HeartSafe Schools

HeartSafe Schools began in 2013, with the vision of educating every Johnson County Middle and/or High School student in Hands-Only CPR.  Johnson County MED-ACT serves as the coordinator for the program, and had seven participating schools in the first year.

Johnson County MED-ACT partnered with Shawnee Mission Health Foundation to secure training manikins for the school districts.  Shawnee Mission will be donated 416 manikins to the Johnson County School Districts in the Fall of 2014.

In the future, it is the hope of HeartSafe Schools to provide CPR training manikins to each individual school in Johnson County, and have the training included in each school's curriculum.
